Russell County Public Library
Web Design & Development
The excitement was palpable at the Russell County Public Library in the final quarter of 2019. A long-awaited new library building was nearing completion, which not only provided more space but the opportunity to add a plethora of new programs. Concerts were being planned in the Gathering Space, in front of a beautiful stone fireplace. Children would have more space for activities after story hour in their new activity room. The new building would be full of color and soon full of life.
The library team wanted its website to reflect the same. RCPL partnered with P&P to bring that color and life onto the screen, carrying through their strong, existing brand and adding new features like recommended book lists and a mega menu that allows them to better categorize their services and offerings. P&P drew design inspiration from the colors and shapes used throughout the interior of the new building, balancing them against a clean, white background that helps users easily navigate the site.
Our library needed a new website with a fresh look that maintained our current brand. We talked with other designers whose proposals were very off base from what we were requesting. P&P listened and heard us. We felt understood and excited, and appreciated the regular communication at all steps along the way.Lindsey westerfield
