When Dr. Tara Horn first contacted P&P, she was faced with a difficult branding challenge — a competing practice had been acquired and renamed something similar to hers. Dr. Horn owned Women’s Care of Somerset, but Women’s Care of Lake Cumberland was now located just down the road. You can imagine the confusion this created on Google and beyond. Online searches produced errant results. Employees found themselves often having to redirect and educate patients about the difference.
But Dr. Horn saw this as an opportunity to reposition her practice and highlight her efforts to go beyond traditional women’s health. In addition to gynecological care and surgery, her practice offers fertility treatment, hormone therapy, weight loss coaching (to include medical grade foods and Coolsculpting), facial aesthetics, medical-grade skincare, laboratory services and primary care. More importantly, though, by approaching women’s health holistically through these services, she is helping her patients be confident, healthy and happy.
The name of her practice needed to reflect that.
Ultimately, when we looked at all of the services Dr. Horn provides, how she provides them, and why, it all led back to one word: Happiness. Through our conversations, we learned just how much she cares about her patients and wants them to be happy. Her services are intimately focused on getting these results.
So we set off to explore where happiness comes from and create a visual representation of it. Of course, happiness comes from many different places in many different forms. But ultimately it comes from within. From the center of you. When you are healthy, when you feel good, when you are comfortable and confident, you are happy.
Our bodies and minds naturally go through dormant and blooming phases, when we are more reserved and quiet, or when our energy and enthusiasm for life are on display for all to see. But if we’re healthy, if we invest in caring for ourselves, our happiness is always at our core no matter what season of life we’re in. If we are in control of our health, we will bloom as we age, just like a peony or rose, year after year.
And so bloomed the new name for Dr. Horn’s practice: Perennial Women’s Wellness. The center of health, beauty and happiness.
The beautiful, relaxing, spa-like environment Dr. Horn has already created inside her practice offered great inspiration for her new brand. A peony — a popular southern perennial flower — is the focal point of the emblem, which is surrounded by a circle to represent Perennial’s holistic approach to women’s care as well as the natural life cycle. Classic gold and navy are the primary colors, with deep plum and green and their light counterparts rounding out the color palette. Dot patterns are used throughout collateral materials to offer texture to the dark colors.
