What We Delivered
Lake Cumberland Tourism is in the business of adventures. Camping, hiking, water sports, boating, fishing, wineries, breweries, farms, golf, art, history, music…wow.
Now it’s everybody flockin’
Lake Cumberland Tourism was ready for its brand to reflect its personality. They wanted to have that wow factor built into their brand that guests describe after a visit. Challenged with often having to explain the symbol in their existing logo, they also wanted something clear and direct.
I got a lot of toys
You don’t have to go far to be inspired by Lake Cumberland — the imagery alone makes you want to be on the water or in one of Somerset-Pulaski County’s many attractions.
Strategy and Tactics
Cut the roof off like a nip-tuck
We made active, engaging images the focus.
P&P added them throughout the annual marketing strategy — travel guide, advertising, website and tradeshow materials.
We also incorporated a more modern content management system, clean lines and bright colors, and dropped the symbol from the existing logo and simply listed the destination.
We updated the color palette to feature a rich aqua green, navy and coral for a more bright, nautical look. A diamond pattern was adopted as a unique way to bring in smaller images while also adding clean, dramatic lines.
All of this was adopted into a new, user-friendly WordPress CMS website, with a home page content structure driven by what people are engaging with most on their website — accommodations, events and dining experiences.
Calls-to-action encouraging visitors to join Lake Cumberland Tourism’s e-mail list are on every page. Websites for attractions and accommodations are easily accessed from all listings, helping visitors plan their stay with ease.
